Apipasta: choose the formulation as well as the pack
Apipasta is an energy paste made with fine crystals coated in glucose syrup. Vitamin-enriched versions add micronutrients; that does not make them protein patties. Apipasta Plus includes protein in its sugar base and should be assessed as a separate formulation.
The BIO version is intended for organic operations. For a certified apiary, retain the documentation applicable to the product and batch. The BIO designation does not extend to every Zukán product.
Apimix: liquid feeding at different scales
Apimix is the syrup range, available in bags, drums and IBCs. Bags simplify distribution to a few hives; bulk feed requires containers, feeders and a clean transfer system. Read the sugar profile and concentration in the technical sheet rather than inferring them from its liquid form.
Before adding water to a commercial syrup, define the intended use and calculate from its dry-matter content. Equal parts syrup and water do not necessarily produce a solution containing half sugar.
Ingredients for beekeepers who prepare their own feed
White sugar, fructose and icing sugar without added starch are ingredients, not complete formulas. Icing sugar suits fine-textured mixtures; a baking product with anti-caking additives is not automatically equivalent. Keep feeding separate from commercial honey production and match quantities to observed consumption.
