01 · WHY THE TEXTURE MATTERS

Low moisture and a stable paste

One figure explains most of this product. Moisture below 10 % is what keeps the paste stable: it neither hardens into a brick the bees abandon nor softens and runs in the heat. And there is a part you cannot see: in a sugar paste the crystal size decides the bee's work — a coarse one forces her to redissolve it, costing her work and water, while a fine one is taken up directly. It is eaten whole, leaving no remains to clear out of the hive.

02 · PASTE OR SYRUP: NOT THE SAME

Maintaining is not stimulating

This is the usual confusion and it is worth settling before buying 15 kg. A maintenance paste gives reserves to a colony with nothing coming in: wintering, a gap in the flow, a weak hive that needs holding up. A liquid syrup does something else — its water stimulates laying and comb building, which is why it is what you use with a freshly hived swarm, a nucleus being made up or a package that has to draw wax. If what you need is for the colony to get going, this is not it; if you need it to hold on, it is.

03 · IF YOUR APIARY IS CERTIFIED ORGANIC

We will send you the batch certificate

It is made with sugar of organic origin according to the manufacturer, and that is why most buyers choose it: not for the paste itself, but because their operation is certified and the feed has to stand up before their control body. A BIO label on the bag is not enough for that — you need the document. Ask us for the certificate of the batch we ship you and we will pass it on for your records; it takes one email and saves you the problem at inspection.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The format is the 15 kg box. If you work in volume — a pallet, half a tonne, a full load — write to us and we will quote you with delivery included: it is a regular enquiry and is handled case by case, outside Spain too. Store it dry and at a steady temperature: the paste needs no refrigeration, but ambient damp and temperature swings are what change its texture before its time.
