1 kg individual pouch of Apipasta with vitamins — sugar fondant 90 % + B-group vitamins + amino acids. Maintenance feed for autumn, overwintering and early spring. For beekeepers with 5-30 hives needing ad-hoc reinforcement without ordering the full box. Pouch on top of frames, no water, no preparation. NOT a stimulant.
Apipasta with vitamins in individual 1 kg pouch — designed for beekeepers who need to reinforce between 1 and 30 hives without ordering the full 15 kg box or the complete pallet. Sugar fondant at 90 % with B-group vitamins and free amino acids, ready to place on top of frames with no water, no preparation, no fermentation risk. Useful in autumn to reinforce overwintering reserves, in early spring to kick-start brood rearing, and any time you spot a weak colony that needs a one-off boost.
In nectar-free periods bees need sugar, but the physical form matters. Fondant sits on top of the frames without spilling, the bees consume it at their pace, and the colony's own humidity softens it just enough to be drawable. Liquid syrup in autumn-winter is counterproductive: cooled by outside temperature it can cause death by drowning when bees fall in, and it stimulates brood at the worst time. Apipasta has 90 % sugars (sucrose, fructose, glucose) and only 10 % moisture — a stable composition that keeps for up to 2 years without fermenting.
Autumn (key): if late-summer reserves are insufficient, place one pouch per hive to secure overwintering — winter survival correlates directly with reserve level at end of summer. Overwintering: for colonies in cluster running short, fondant is one of the few feeds bees can consume while clustered. Early spring: when blossom is out but weather is still cold and foragers cannot fly, it keeps brood going without breaks. NOT a stimulant: to start laying use light syrup or Beecomplet spring.
The 1 kg individual pouch is the format for the advanced amateur or semi-professional with 5-30 hives who needs ad-hoc feeding: a weak colony after a nucleus, overwintering reinforcement for 2-3 specific hives, or testing before committing to a larger format. If you handle more than 30 hives and plan to feed the whole apiary, the 15 kg box works out cheaper (15 pouches, ≈ 20 % saving). If you run 250+ hives or a cooperative, the 1050 kg pallet is the logical unit.
Place the pouch directly on the top bars of the frames, where the bees are clustered (as close to the cluster as possible). Open with a central cut of about 5 cm — do not tear the whole pouch as the fondant will dry out. The bees will reach the feed through the opening, helped by the colony's own humidity and temperature. No water, no extra container, no fermentation risk. One pouch per hive per application; check at 3-4 weeks and replenish if the colony has consumed it and cold continues.
Apipasta Vitamins covers the energy side, but its protein content is very low — it is a complete feed, not a pure protein supplement. If your colony needs genuine protein reinforcement (spring with scarce or low-quality pollen, freshly made nuclei, recovery after varroa treatment), use dedicated protein patties: the SuperProtein Patty Dulcofruct (12.5 %), the Bee-Sacc Health Alltech (16 %) — the most concentrated in the catalogue — the Proteall Patty (11 %) or the Candisac as a budget option. Protein is key for nurse bees to develop the hypopharyngeal glands that produce royal jelly — without enough protein, badly-fed larvae produce smaller adults, with shorter lifespan and greater susceptibility to varroa and nosema.
