10.5 % PROTEIN OF THE CANDY | 10 × 1 kg 10 KG BOX |
pH 4.5 HONEY'S OWN | 82 % DRY MATTER |
Protein candy in 1 kg boards, ten to a box: soy and yeast protein on a base of already-inverted sugars, for when pollen is not enough.
The 10.5 % is the protein of the finished candy, not that of the substitute inside it. With vitamins, the ten essential amino acids, minerals and probiotic bacteria, at pH 4.5.
01 · WHAT THE 10.5 % MEANS
Worth clearing up first, because it is the comparison that costs most money: the 10.5 % is the protein of the candy, that is, of what you actually put on the colony. It is the same convention as across the rest of our protein candies. The figure on a sack of pollen substitute is something else — the protein of the pure ingredient, before it is mixed — and it will always be far higher. Comparing the two is comparing flour with bread: if what you want is bulk protein to formulate yourself, what you need is the substitute, not this board.
02 · THE pH 4.5
This is what separates a well-formulated protein candy from one the colony barely touches. Honey is acidic and the bee's gut works in that environment; a feed at pH 4.5 sits in that band instead of making her correct it. The sugar base runs the same way: 76-81 % monosaccharides, that is free fructose and glucose, with only 6-8 % residual sucrose. She does not have to spend her own invertase splitting the feed before she can use it.
03 · WHAT ELSE IS IN IT
The protein fraction is soy and yeast, and with it come the ten essential amino acids — tryptophan, tyrosine, valine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, histidine and arginine — which is what really decides whether a protein is any use: the amino acid that runs short sets the ceiling, however much crude protein there is. It also carries vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, PP, C, A, D3 and E, minerals (Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, Co, P), vegetable fats, essential oils and probiotic bacteria. Non-GMO raw materials.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
Within the catalogue this is the protein candy in a 10 kg box: ten 1 kg boards, the format for going round a whole apiary. If you prefer a single board there is the UltraBee candy, also at 10 %; and if you want more protein per board, the SuperProtein patty goes to 12.5 %. Two things do not change: it does not replace syrup — protein and carbohydrate are different things — and it does not replace pollen when pollen is coming in.
| ✓ FITS | When no pollen is coming in and you do not want to prepare anything: lay the board and that is it. |
| ⚠ NO SUBSTITUTE | For syrup or natural pollen. And take back what they do not eat before it dries out. |
