Details of Smoker box APIBOX with tool compartment

APIBOX® case in 0.5 mm galvanised steel with two spaces: a closed one with lid and latch for the smoker and an open tray for the tools. It measures 33 × 30 × 26 cm and has a handle.

It is the tool-tray version of the small APIBOX: the smoker travels out and isolated, and the tools ride alongside instead of loose in the boot. Before ordering, measure your smoker’s height.

01 · WILL YOURS FIT?

The box is 30 tall, and inside there is a little less

The maker does not publish the inside dimensions of the two spaces, so the rule is the outside height: 30 cm, with a little less inside. Smokers of 23 to 27 cm, the stainless one with spark guard, the ECO, the welded one, stand upright with the lid closed; those around 28 or 29 are at the limit. The 32.5 cm XXL does not fit: for that one there is the APIBOX Alta, at 34. Measure yours with the lid on and the guard fitted.

02 · WHAT IT IS FOR

The drive home, with the smoker out

A smoker you have just put out keeps smoking and stays hot for a good while. In its closed space the smoke stays in, the car does not smell and the steel keeps it off the tarpaulin and the clothes. And the open tray is so that all the tools come back. It is not watertight and is not meant to hold a lit smoker: put it out, check there is no ember left, then close it.
