Automatic uncapping machine with oscillating toothed blades adjustable to the width of the frame, and heated electrically.
If you're looking to professionalize your honey house and uncap your frames quickly, cleanly and without depending on manual labor, this automatic uncapping machine with electrically heated knives is one of the best investments you can make. Robust, versatile and easy to adjust, it's designed for beekeepers handling medium to high volumes, whether in stationary or migratory operations.
It comes in two versions depending on the frame top bar length:
• Langstroth/Dadant US model (48 cm top bar): suitable for Langstroth deep and medium frames, as well as Dadant US brood frames.
• Dadant Blatt model (47 cm top bar): designed for Dadant Blatt hives commonly used in France, Italy and Belgium, for both brood and honey supers.
Key advantages that make a real difference
1. Serrated, oscillating and adjustable knives:
The knives are serrated and oscillate laterally to follow the uneven surface of the cappings. They are also adjustable to the exact comb width using a guide system, ensuring a clean cut without removing healthy wax or leaving cappings behind. Compatible with both Hoffman and straight frames.
2. Dry heating via electric resistors (no steam):
Unlike models that use steam or water circuits — which can add moisture to your honey and require constant refilling — this machine uses direct electrical resistors. It offers dry, instant, and clean heat.
Temperature is adjustable between 30 and 95 °C, though in practice, you should not exceed 40 °C. In peak summer harvests, you may not even need to turn the heaters on: ambient heat does the job. Adaptable to season, crop and honey house conditions.
3. Automatic frame feed:
Simply load the frames into the side rails, and the system automatically feeds them through the knives. Once uncapped, frames drop onto the collection table. The feeder rotates at 9 rpm, enabling an average throughput of 4 frames per minute.
4. User-friendly digital control panel:
The PC-02 controller lets you activate the heaters, adjust temperature, start the feed motor and reverse direction (handy if a frame jams). The screen shows both actual and target temperature and displays error codes for diagnostics.
5. Dual-function collection table with filters:
The lower tray measures 1.5 meters long and has two key functions:
• It collects cappings hygienically using two perforated stainless steel baskets that allow honey to drain directly below.
• It also serves as a waiting area to hold up to 36 frames before they're loaded into the extractor, helping streamline workflow and avoid bottlenecks.
6. Minimal maintenance and maximum safety:
Built entirely from food-grade stainless steel, this machine is designed for heavy-duty use over many seasons. It features an emergency stop button, thermal fuses, error display, and easy access for cleaning. Knife width and guide rails are adjusted with a standard Allen key.
Perfect for large harvests or high-throughput honey houses
Whether you're working with sunflower, rosemary, orange blossom or eucalyptus, this machine performs beautifully. Especially effective on denser or partially crystallized cappings like heather or blackberry. And in spring harvests where cappings are softer, you can lower the temperature or run it without heat at all.
