A replacement identified for the Málaga reversible basket

SAF records reference SPRING as the spring for the reversible basket of the Málaga extractor. That is the confirmed compatibility. It must not be extended to other reversible extractors merely because another spring has a similar appearance or length.

02 · WHAT TO CHECK

Model, hooks and dimensions before dismantling

Confirm that the extractor is a Málaga and compare the original spring with the product image. Check its total free length, approximate diameter and the orientation of the eyelets at both ends. If the machine has been modified or its identification is missing, a photograph and serial number help prevent an incorrect replacement.

The catalogue dimensions are indicative and do not replace comparison with the old part. Do not select a spring by length alone: hook geometry and its role within the basket are equally important.

03 · SAFE INSTALLATION

A tensioned spring can store energy

Disconnect the extractor, secure the basket and release the tension in the assembly before removing the damaged part. Use suitable tools and eye protection; do not stretch the spring to make it fit or alter its eyelets. If you do not know the reversible-basket procedure, have the part fitted by a technician.

04 · CHECK AFTER REPLACEMENT

Test unloaded and at low speed first

Make sure both ends are properly seated, the basket changes position without rubbing and no coil touches a moving part. Carry out a brief test with no frames and stop the machine if there is vibration, noise or irregular movement. A new spring does not by itself correct a distorted basket, excess play or other damage.

One spring is supplied, not the basket assembly

The product contains 1 SPRING replacement spring. Basket, extractor, anchor points and tools are not included. If several parts need replacing, inspect each position: another spring that looks similar may perform a different function or work at a different tension.
