They are measured end to end, hooks included. Pick the length by extractor model, not by eye: 60, 75 and 85 mm are not interchangeable.

Original LYSON conical replacement springs for the reversible system of the extractors, in treated steel that stands damp and temperature swings. Available in three lengths.

01 · MEASURE THEM WITH THE HOOKS

And each model wants its own

The length is taken end to end, hooks included. Measure only the body of the spring and you land on the wrong size, and the fit will not work.

Each LYSON reversible extractor model calls for a specific length. If you are not sure which yours is, measure the spring you have on before ordering.

02 · CHANGE THEM AS A SET

The mistake that unbalances the cage

The spring is what holds the frame against the cage while the drum spins, and what lets the cage tip over when it reverses. When it loses tension, the frame moves: the comb breaks and the drum goes out of balance.

That is why it pays to change them all at once. One new spring next to three tired ones pulls harder than the rest and unbalances the cage just as if you had not changed it.

And what wears them most is not the spinning: it is being left with honey on them. Honey is acidic, so after the harvest they are rinsed and dried.
