Solid follower board measuring 482 × 285 mm for reducing the usable volume of a compatible Dadant hive or nucleus colony.
It is positioned after the last occupied frame so that the colony remains gathered in the area it actually covers, rather than having to manage a larger empty space. The hardboard panel has a wooden top bar.
01 · USE
The follower board helps compress the nest in nucleus hives, small colonies or periods of lower population. It is neither an airtight partition nor a two-queen system: its effect depends on the side and bottom clearances, bee space and the geometry of the box.
02 · MAINTENANCE
Remove propolis without digging the scraper into the board, check that the panel has not swollen or delaminated, and store it dry. If there is excessive space around it, the bees may propolise the gap or build comb; if it rubs, do not force it into the box.
