Demountable frame formed from two vertical half-frames which fit together through their machined joints to make one full brood frame in the Dadant US 482 × 285 mmformat.
The system allows each half to be used in a compatible mating nucleus and then joined for transfer to a Dadant US brood box.
01 · USE
Each half can hold comb in the nucleus designed for this format. When the queen and her brood need to be moved, the two halves are joined to form the full frame and the assembly is placed in a Dadant US brood box. This moves the comb on its own support and reduces direct handling of the brood.
02 · ASSEMBLY
Align the machined joints and press the two pieces together until the assembly is coplanar, with no step between the top bars. Check the joint before lifting a frame containing brood and always handle it by the complete top bar. If the wood has swollen, dried or distorted, do not force the fit while bees are on the comb.
03 · HANDLING
The frame provides physical compatibility between two stages of management, but introduction still depends on the queen's condition, the receiving colony, scent, population and timing. Plan the operation, avoid chilling the brood and subsequently confirm the queen's presence and activity.
04 · BEFORE YOU BUY
| ⚠ NOT INCLUDED | Dadant US, not Dadant Blatt. The complete frame is Dadant US format, with a top bar close to 48 cm. Do not confuse it with Dadant Blatt, whose top bar is approximately 47 cm. Measure a frame that already fits your brood box and also check that the nucleus uses these 257 × 285 mmhalves. |
