This is the large LYSON heart: a candle with no relief for the table or as a gift, giving about 18 candles per kilo of wax.
01 · SIZE
A table-sized heart, not a tiny favour
According to the LYSON catalogue, the candle comes out 6.2 cm wide by 2.5 cm tall and takes about 55 g of wax: some 18 candles per kilo. It is smaller than the rose hearts in our range, which take around 88 and 105 g, and in return it has no relief to fill: the smooth surface comes out of the mould with no detail to break.
02 · WICK AND POURING
A 3×9 wick through the base and wax at 70-75 °C
LYSON recommends a 3×9 wick for this heart. It is a mould without a slit: the wick is threaded through the mark in the base and kept taut before pouring. Pour the wax at 70-75 °C, because at 62-65, its own melting point, it arrives thick and the edge of the heart comes out rounded. At 2.5 cm thick, shrinkage on cooling is small.
