Details of Supertool Multifunction hive tool

In the apiary you end up carrying half a toolbox: the hive tool, the frame lifter, the excluder cleaner, a hammer for a loose nail… The Supertool brings all that together in one piece of stainless steel with a wooden handle: the beekeeper's swiss-army knife for sorting out almost any job without going back to the car.

01 · USE

Seven functions in one tool

One piece does the work of several:

· Hive tool with a straight end and a bent end, to prise frames apart and scrape propolis

· Queen-excluder cleaner blade

· Frame scraper and wax-channel cleaner between top bars

· Nail puller for repairing boxes and supers

· Removable hammer to nail on the spot

02 · MATERIAL

Stainless steel and a wooden handle

The blade is stainless steel, which won't rust or stain the wax, and the riveted wooden handle gives a solid grip and leverage even with gloves and propolis. It's a hefty tool —you feel the weight in your hand—, and that solidity is exactly what holds up when you lever a well-stuck frame or nail a super. If you want an ultralight flat hive tool for quick visits, this is another league.
