The Hanna® HI148-3 combines an internal sensor for the instrument’s surroundings with an external stainless steel probe on a 1 m cable. You can compare two measurement points, with memory for 8000 readings per channel.

01 · TWO MEASUREMENTS

Place each sensor where it answers your question

The internal sensor measures from −20 to 60 °C and the external probe from −40 to 125 °C. The probe can follow one point in the batch or process while the instrument records its own surroundings. Keep it away from the heated wall when measuring honey temperature. Record its position: a surface reading or a single point does not automatically represent the whole volume.

02 · SETUP

The interval determines how much history you keep

Readings can be logged at intervals from 2 seconds to 24 hours. A short interval captures rapid changes better but fills the memory sooner. As a guide, logging every minute provides a little over five days of monitoring per channel. Set the high and low alarms for your process; they flag deviations but do not disconnect a heater or control the heating system.

03 · TRACEABILITY

Keep the temperature curve with the batch record

HI92148 software for Windows configures the logger and downloads readings by USB. Link each session to the batch, operation and probe position. Keep the table and graph to compare treatment duration and temperature across batches and identify deviations.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Separate resolution, accuracy and certification

Between 0 and 70 °C the stated accuracy is ±0.4 °C; display resolution is 0.1 °C up to 100 °C. Displaying tenths does not mean measurement uncertainty is one tenth. The package includes a USB cable, wall cradle, batteries and quality control certificate. If your quality system requires a traceable calibration certificate, confirm that specific service. Also check software compatibility with the computer you intend to use.
