Almost two litres of jar. Full it weighs over three kilos, and that decides where it goes and how you pick it up.

Nine half-gallon jars, 1,966 ml, in clear glass with a TO 110 mouth. They stand 206 mm tall by 122.7 mm across and weigh 700 g each empty.

01 · WHAT IT HOLDS AND WHAT IT WEIGHS

Nearly three kilos of honey

The 1,966 ml to the brim gives between 2.65 and 2.75 kg of honey — honey weighs around 1.4 kg per litre — so full it comes to three and a half kilos with the glass. It is a pantry and bulk-sale format, not a shelf one.

It gets plenty of use beyond honey: olives, pickles and preserves. And if you run short, the same mouth has a bigger brother in the full gallon.

02 · THE LID

TO 110, the widest mouth in the catalogue

It takes a 110 mm Twist-Off lid, the largest we work with and the only one that closes on eight lugs instead of four or six. That matters when closing: with eight points of grip the lid has to go down properly flat before you turn, or a lug rides over the ramp.

In this diameter there are only two finishes, gold and black. And the numbers work out: jars and lids both come in packs of 9.
