Breathable textile mesh bag, 100 × 60 cm with a drawstring closure, that wraps a whole nuc with its bees for the journey: air gets through, bees do not. For 5- or 6-frame Langstroth, Dadant or Layens nucs and nuc boxes, in wood, plastic or cardboard. Weighs 300 g and folds into a pocket.

Moving a nuc by car has two fears: that it suffocates and that a loose bee ends up on the windscreen. The mesh solves both at once: it ventilates and contains, with the entrance open.

01 · HOW TO USE IT

Nuc inside, drawstring closed, entrance open

Put the closed nuc in the bag, pull the drawstring and tie it: seconds, and no zips to jam with propolis. Inside the mesh the entrance can stay open, which is what lets the colony travel ventilated; at the destination, open the drawstring next to the final stand and take it out. A 5-frame Langstroth, Dadant or Layens nuc goes in with room; for two nucs, two bags.

02 · ON THE ROAD

Shade, air and the car moving

The mesh stops heat and CO₂ building up inside the nuc, but it does not cool: travel with the nuc in the shade, in an open boot or ventilated cabin, and without long stops in the sun in summer. Secured so it does not tip, with the frames in the direction of travel. With freshly made nucs, which set off nervous, is where it is most appreciated.

03 · HOW LONG IT LASTS

Mesh and binding, washable

Textile mesh with orange reinforcing binding and drawstring; hand-wash when it gets propolised and dry in the shade. A torn mesh lets bees through: check it before every trip. It also serves for cardboard swarm traps or for bringing home a collected colony.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

One bag is supplied; nucs, nuc boxes and swarm traps come separately.
