450 W AT 220-240 V, AUTOMATIC THERMOSTAT | 12.5 cm HEATED BLADE: ONE SUPER FRAME PER PASS |
Horizontal THE BLADE IS FIXED; THE FRAME SLIDES | 2 kg WITH WOODEN HANDLE (BIENEN-RUCK) |
Fixed-blade electric uncapper in the American MAXANT style, Bienen-Ruck’s RuBee 32520: a 12.5 cm heated blade mounted in a steel cradle with the element tube behind, a wooden handle and an inline switch with automatic thermostat. It works the other way round from the knife: the blade stays still and hot and the frame slides over it, wrist neutral. 450 W at 220-240 V, 2 kg.
The electric knife makes you saw up and down; here the blade does not move and the frame passes over it as over a plane, and the forearm notices by the third hour.
01 · HOW IT IS USED
Rest the unit or hold it by the handle with the blade up and slide the frame over the hot edge, using the top bar and bottom bar as guides: the cappings lift off in a sheet and drop into the tray. With no vertical sawing the wrist works neutral and the cut comes out more even; in the honey house, hundreds of frames in a row, that is what avoids ending up sore. Over an uncapping tray or bench (851, 303) with a rest, the work runs itself.
02 · THE BLADE
The 12.5 cm heated edge covers a half-super frame in one pass. The automatic thermostat holds the working temperature: short warm-up, and it cuts the wax without caramelising the honey or darkening the cappings, which is what an overheated blade does. On-off switch inline; plugs into 220-240 V.
03 · WHAT IT IS AND IS NOT
It is a fixed single-edge blade, not an uncapping machine: each frame passes by hand, side by side, and the result depends on the pass. For brood frames taller than the edge you make two passes or use the long knife. Bienen-Ruck calls it “Dadant” for the super format the blade suits; with Langstroth supers it goes the same.
04 · CARE
Clean with the blade cold, hot water and a cloth, without submerging the electrical part or the element tube. The handle is wood: dry it after each session. The set’s 2 kg ask to rest it between frames; it is not a light hand knife.
05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
The uncapper is supplied with cable, switch and thermostat; tray, bench and rest come separately.
