REFERENCE

Silicone spatula and scraper for recovering honey left on the walls and bottom of buckets, drums and settling tanks. Its broad, flexible blade gathers the residue and directs it towards the tap or collection point with fewer passes.

The total length is 34.5 cm: convenient for accessible containers, but not equivalent to a long-handled industrial scraper. Although the listing sits in the uncapping category, its documented job is handling honey in containers; it does not open cappings, cut comb or replace a filter.

01 · ACTUAL USE

Recover residual honey without reaching for a metal paddle

After transferring or filling, allow the honey to drain, stabilise the container and sweep the blade down the wall towards one collection point. The flexible edge follows curves and the wall-to-base junction, where a rigid tool commonly leaves more product behind. Use continuous strokes and do not drag dry debris: a hard sugar crystal, grit or a burr can mark a vessel even when the blade is silicone. The spatula reduces metal-to-metal contact, but it cannot guarantee that every stainless-steel, plastic or coated surface will remain unmarked.

02 · CHECK THE REACH

Measure the vessel: 34.5 cm includes both blade and handle

The documented maximum width is 7.5 cm and the catalogue weight is 123 g. To check whether it will reach the bottom, measure from the rim to the area you need to scrape and leave enough handle outside to keep your hand clear of the honey. It is a practical size for many buckets and low settling tanks; it may be too short for deep drums, a limitation also raised in real customer use. The photographs show several colours, but this listing has no documented colour option or attribute, so do not order on the assumption that a particular colour will be supplied.

03 · FOOD CONTACT AND HYGIENE

The declaration identifies CL09-2, not an unspecified grade of silicone

The downloadable documentation names this spatula and includes NTEK report DGF240312038HE02. The sample passed the stated sensory, overall-migration, metals and primary-aromatic-amine tests; overall migration was <3 mg/dm² against the stated 10 mg/dm² limit under the test conditions. The declaration covers aqueous products and a time-dependent hot-fill regime between 70 and 100 °C. Those limits describe the material and are not instructions to heat honey. For routine work, hand-wash before first use and after each session with warm potable water and food-equipment detergent; rinse, dry fully and inspect for cuts, cracks, tackiness or retained odours.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

It removes visible residue; it does not purify or repair poor honey

The broad edge can also collect foam or floating particles after settling, keeping the removed material separate from the batch. This can improve presentation, but it does not filter honey, remove moisture, chemical residues or pollen, or prevent fermentation. Settling, filtration and moisture control remain separate operations. Dishwasher suitability, solvent resistance, abrasive cleaning and contact with sharp edges are not documented for CL09-2. Do not use it as an uncapping knife or leave it on dirty surfaces. A clean utensil dedicated to honey reduces transfer between batches and makes wear easier to spot before material can detach.

GOOD FITYou recover honey from buckets, settling tanks or drums within the 34.5 cm working reach.
MEASURE FIRSTThe vessel is deep or your hand must remain well above the product.
NOT AUncapping knife, filter, long industrial scraper or universal scratch-proof guarantee.
