01 · IT IS LIQUID, AND VERY RUNNY

Few cuts over the frames, or pour it into the feeder

Beecomplet is a liquid syrup, not a paste or a candy. Over the frames you lay the bag face up and make a few incisions — half a dozen is plenty: open it too much and the syrup runs to the hive floor and can even come out of the entrance, and the smell of sugar at the apiary sets off robbing. The cleaner option is to empty the bag into a feeder: frame feeder, round top feeder or tray, all work because the product is liquid. If there is no room between frames and crown board, a frame feeder solves it.

02 · HOW LONG IT REALLY LASTS

The guidance says 15-30 days; a strong colony drinks it in under a week

The maker's recommendation is a maximum of two bags over an interval of 15 to 30 days, and that is the rate to plan your purchase around. In practice consumption depends on population: in strong summer colonies it is common for the kilo to disappear in five or six days. That is not a fault — it means they take it well — but it is worth knowing before you work out how many boxes your apiary needs.

03 · WHAT IS IN IT

Sugars, water and plant extracts; no pollen, no preservatives

The declared composition is 75 % carbohydrates — of which 18.79 % reducing sugars — and 20 % water. The rest is plant extracts providing potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and iron, plus 17 amino acids and 12 vitamins. It contains no pollen, preservatives or industrial additives. The maker declares the same composition for all three versions — spring, summer/autumn and winter: what changes is the moment recommended for each. This is the one for building winter stores, not for stimulating laying.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Each box is 14 bags of 1 kg, so it covers several hives or a season for a small apiary. And one rule that does not depend on the product: do not feed syrup during a flow if you are going to harvest that honey for sale.
