Detalles de Compact Gear Pump 0.55kw LYSON

This compact pump with a gear module is designed for beekeepers who need a practical and efficient solution for transferring honey between ripeners, settling tanks, or barrels. As a bonus, it also allows you to produce creamy honey through recirculation — all with a single piece of equipment.

How does it work? Unlike vane pumps (which are self-priming), gear pumps do not create vacuum on their own, so the circuit must be filled before operation. However, their main advantage is that they do not emulsify honey — meaning they avoid introducing air and preserve the product’s structure. That’s why gear pumps are widely used in professional honey filling machines.

During transfer, this pump can move up to 1650 liters/hour (with fluid honey), saving significant time in the honey house. And as a bonus, it can be used to create creamy honey by recirculating honey in the same container.

Making creamy honey with this pump: The concept is simple: by running the honey multiple times through the gear module, it applies gentle mechanical friction that breaks down large crystals and refines the texture. This method, common in countries like Poland and Germany, does not require a whisk or seeding. For best results, recirculate the honey several times per day over 2–3 days, ideally at 25–30 °C, especially with fast-crystallizing varieties like rapeseed, lavender, or eucalyptus honey.

Advantages over other systems:

Consistent, pulse-free flow: Ideal for transferring or filling.
No emulsification: Maintains honey quality and structure.
Versatile: Useful for both transfer and texture refinement.
Compact and portable: With built-in handle.
Widely used: This is the most common system in honey bottling lines.

Good to know: These pumps are not self-priming, so they must be primed before use. While they’re not as powerful as screw pumps (which can move dense honey, cappings, or pump vertically), gear pumps are still highly effective for fluid or partially crystallized honey without complications.

Technical specifications:

Voltage: 230 V
Power: 0.55 kW
Pump type: Gear (non self-priming, non-reversible)
Flow rate: Up to 1650 L/h (with fluid honey)
Functions: Honey transfer and recirculation for creamy texture
Portability: Integrated carrying handle
Compatibility: Liquid or partially crystallized honey
Pro tip: Warm honey to 25–30 °C to improve flow and enhance creaminess. Recirculate multiple times daily for at least 2 days.
