MATERIAL

Nylon filter cloth of 1000 microns: the coarse pass, the one that goes first and takes out what would block the rest.

Filtering honey is not one operation, it is several. Each mesh aperture has its job, and skipping the first is what makes the fine cloth saturate in five minutes and stops the whole line for a clean. This is the most open of the three we stock.

01 · WHAT IT HOLDS

The coarse stuff: cappings, wax and whatever comes off the frame

At 1000 microns the honey passes with all its fine load and the bulk stays behind: capping debris, pieces of wax, the odd bee, splinters off the frame. It is not a finishing filter and does not pretend to be — its job is to protect the next mesh. Behind it come the 500 micron and, if you want table honey clear of particles, the 300.

02 · FORMAT

A 1270 mm wide roll, cut by the metre

It is sold by the metre: one unit is 1000 × 1270 mm of cloth. That width lets you cut it to whatever you have — pre-filters, honey tank mouths, drums — instead of buying a closed filter for each vessel. The nylon washes and is reused season after season; rinse it in hot water before the honey crystallises in the mesh.

03 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Which of the three you need

The family runs in three steps: 1000 microns (coarse) for the first pass, 500 (medium) for transfer, and 300 (ultra-fine) for finishing before bottling. If you are buying just one and extract little, the 500 is the most versatile; if you extract in series, all three work in cascade.
