Details of Smoker bellows replacement

The bellows is the part of a smoker that wears out first. Once the stitching gives way, the wood loosens around the staples or you can no longer produce firm bursts of air, there is no need to replace the whole smoker — just swap the bellows. This replacement in wood and synthetic leather, with 4 symmetrical fixing points, fits the vast majority of modern European smokers.

🔧 Built for heavy use

Boards in melamine-coated chipboard, bellows in synthetic leather and outer trim in PVC stapled on both faces. The melamine layer protects the wood from the radiant heat of the smoker body, the synthetic leather will not crack like natural leather does when it heats up and dries out, and the PVC trim keeps the stitching airtight season after season. You only replace the bellows: screws, gasket and the rest of the smoker stay in place.

📐 4 fixing points — the current European standard

The 4 symmetrical holes on the base match the fixing layout of modern European smokers, including our FAP5012 with protection cage, FAP5012AF spark-arrestor and FAP5017 XXL. Before ordering, check that your existing smoker also has 4 fixing points: very old units sometimes come with 2 or 3, and this replacement will not fit those.

💡 When is it time to replace the bellows?

Three clear signs: (1) stitching open or leather cracked — air leaks out of the sides and pumping feels weak; (2) wood with play around the staples — you can feel movement when you squeeze; (3) no firm bursts of air even when pumping hard. Replacing the bellows costs roughly a quarter of a new smoker and returns the tool to first-inspection condition.
