01 · WHAT CHANGES

The basket turns; you control the speed

The motor removes the continuous work of the crank, while the potentiometer lets you adjust rotation manually. This is not an automatic controller with programmed cycles: it has one manual programme, with no automatic programmes or user memory. That keeps it simple, but the beekeeper must supervise every batch.

02 · ACTUAL COMPATIBILITY

The diameter guides you; the mounting decides

LYSON assigns this system to 400–650 mm drums and to tangential, radial or cassette configurations. The controller mounts on the upper crossbar. That range does not make the kit universal: before ordering, check the extractor model, drum diameter, crossbar shape, shaft and mounting points. For an older machine or another brand, send photographs and measurements to confirm the adaptation.

03 · FIRST EXTRACTION

Start slowly and balance the frames

Place frames of similar weight opposite one another and start at low speed. Once some of the honey has left the comb, increase the speed progressively. Starting hard with full combs multiplies vibration and can break the wax; the potentiometer is there to adapt the load to the drum diameter, the condition of the comb and the viscosity of the honey.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This reference is the motor and controller kit. If you only need the controller or its potentiometer, identify the exact MDD-01 replacement; do not buy the full kit by elimination. Disconnect the equipment before fitting or adjustment, and do not start it until you have checked alignment, fixings and free rotation of the basket.
