Replacement Motor 18 V 80 W for LYSON Minima / Basic Extractors

01 · THE DIAGNOSIS

Three checks that take two minutes

With the extractor unplugged, turn the cage by hand: if it rubs, jams or grinds, the trouble is in the shaft or the bearing, and a new motor will not fix it.

Then look at the belt: the pulley is toothed, so if the belt has lost teeth or slips, the motor turns and the drum does not. And finally the controller, which is the most common failure on this range — if the motor will not start and does not even hum, suspect the electronics before the motor.

02 · 18 V IS NOT MAINS

It is fed by its controller

This is an 18 V motor, not a mains one: it takes its current from the extractor's controller, which transforms it and regulates the speed. It is never wired to 230 V.

That is why the maker insists on using it with the extractor's original controller. A motor fed by electronics that are not its own works for a while and then takes both down with it.

03 · WHICH EXTRACTORS

Minima and Basic, and only up to 4 frames

It fits Minima tangential extractors of 2 and 3 frames and Basic tangential or reversible ones of 2, 3 and 4 frames. The 80 W are sized for exactly that drum.

It does not suit larger extractors or the CLASSIC, OPTIMA and PREMIUM ranges. LYSON's documentation is not always consistent between models, so if your extractor is not on that list, confirm it with us before ordering.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This is the motor alone: no belt, controller or wiring. If the fault is in the electronics, this spare does not solve it.
