A spare part with a narrow fit

It is the original replacement for the internal board of the control panel of the 6-frame reversible electric extractor MALAGA. It fits panels built up to 2024, with the same connector and no adjustments.

Outside that it is no use: neither the panels of the updated model nor those of other makes. If it is not clear which version is in the workshop, look at the board before ordering; a photo of the open panel settles it in a minute.

02 · BEFORE SPENDING THE MONEY

Which symptoms point to the board and which do not

Pointing to the board are power-up failures, errors on the HE-01V controller and intermittent lockups: the machine starts sometimes and not others, or stops mid-cycle for no visible reason.

Before taking the step it is worth ruling out the cheap causes, because they give exactly the same symptoms: the lead and the socket, the panel fuse, and the board's own connectors, which work loose with the vibration of a honey house. A loose connector imitates an electronics fault to perfection.

03 · THE SWAP, STEP BY STEP

Ten minutes and one precaution you do not skip

Unplug the machine from the mains before opening the panel, and do not plug it back in until the cover is on. This is power electronics and it allows no shortcuts.

After that it is straightforward: take off the panel cover, unplug and remove the faulty board, fit the new one in its place and put the connector back, since it is the same. There is nothing to calibrate or configure.

Having one on the shelf is what makes it worth it: in the middle of the season, with several batches a day, the breakdown does not cost the price of the board, it costs the days of standstill waiting for the part.
