01 · PROPANE AND 50 MBAR

And you do not change the gas

It is built for propane and works with a 50 mbar regulator, connected to a bottle or a tank. The maker is explicit: it must not be used with a gas other than the one it was built for, because the gas-air mixture is calibrated for that calorific value and that pressure.

The double stabilising and compensating chamber is what holds that mixture steady while the burner runs at full load — which is exactly when a poorly fed burner starts giving an uneven flame.

02 · WHY TWO BOTTLES

A bottle does not vaporise that fast

At full power, 31 kW is on the order of 2.4 kg of gas per hour. An ordinary bottle does not vaporise that much continuously: the liquid cools as it evaporates, the bottle frosts and the pressure drops — and what you notice is the burner 'losing strength' for no apparent reason.

The answer is not to turn the regulator up, it is to split the draw: two bottles in parallel or a tank. That is why the maker recommends keeping a second bottle; winter cold makes the effect worse.

03 · THE THERMOCOUPLE DOES NOT VENTILATE

They are two different problems

The thermocouple safety valve cuts the gas if the flame goes out. That solves unburnt gas escaping, and it matters — but it does not solve ventilation: a 31 kW burner consumes oxygen and produces combustion gases in quantity.

Indoors it needs real ventilation, not a window on the latch, and a carbon monoxide detector is a reasonable precaution. The unit complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/426 and standards UNE EN 497, UNE EN 203-1 and UNE EN 203-2-1.

04 · WHICH POT IT TAKES

From 60 to 90 cm across

The 40 × 40 cm square spreads the flame under pots of 60 to 90 cm, the usual range of 200 to 500 litre melters. With a much smaller pot the flame escapes round the sides and output is wasted.

The legs are removable and adjustable, so it sets to working height and to uneven floors — it comes with its own stand, no separate bench needed. Made in Valencia.
