Detalles de Cappings melter SIPA® 2 in 1

This professional-grade wax melter is designed to optimize honey and wax recovery from uncapping residue with precision and safety. Thanks to its forced hot-air circulation system, it separates honey and wax efficiently without overheating, preserving the quality of both products.

Manufactured in Germany using double-walled food-grade stainless steel, it features a thermostat-controlled heating system adjustable between 30 °C and 110 °C. This makes it ideal not only for melting cappings but also for a wide range of other beekeeping tasks.

Versatile Applications

In addition to its main function as a wax melter for cappings, this unit offers a wide range of practical uses:

  • Melting uncappings with honey: Operates at temperatures above 65 °C to melt the wax while allowing honey to settle by gravity. The wax rises and can be poured into molds, while the honey settles at the bottom. Note: this process may increase HMF levels due to the higher temperatures required for melting wax.
  • Gentle separation of honey from cappings: At 40–50 °C, honey can be recovered without fully melting the wax, preserving honey quality. Ideal for overnight cycles with a processing capacity of up to 35 kg per 6-hour batch.
  • Block wax melting: Suitable for melting old combs, dry cappings, burr combs, or wax lumps into clean wax blocks.
  • Melting old brood frames: Efficient for processing and recycling old wax from brood frames. Keep in mind that using very dark or propolis-heavy wax will leave more residue and require extra cleaning.
  • Decrystallizing honey in buckets or jars: Excellent for restoring the liquid state of crystallized honeys (e.g. heather, lavender, sunflower) in pails, drums, or glass jars. The circulating warm air ensures gentle, uniform heat.
  • Warming crystallized or dense honey in combs: Ideal for softening dense or partially crystallized honey before uncapping or extraction.
  • Uncapping station: Thanks to its ergonomic working height and sturdy design, it can be used as a workbench for uncapping during harvest.

How It Works

The frames or cappings are placed in the removable stainless steel basket. Warm air circulates evenly, melting the wax and allowing the denser honey to settle at the bottom. This natural separation by gravity ensures clean recovery of both wax and honey, without contact with direct heat or water.

Real Advantages for Beekeepers

This unit maximizes yield and reduces waste while maintaining high hygiene standards. It provides a silent, energy-efficient alternative to steam wax melters or solar melters, particularly useful during busy harvest seasons or in medium-to-large-scale operations.

Important note: at the end of the season, some beekeepers choose not to process very dirty wax or dry cappings in this melter to avoid heavy cleaning. In such cases, a steam wax melter may be more suitable, preserving this unit for clean, food-grade wax and honey processing.
