01 · SORTING

One upside-down lid can stop the whole line

Tipping lids into a hopper is easy; getting every one to arrive the right way up is the problem. The sorter orients plastic and metal lids, screw and twist-off, so the tower always receives them in the same position: a single inverted lid in an automatic capper is not a lost jar, it is a stoppage and a strip-down.

A sensor watches the reserve of lids waiting at the outlet. When it is full, the machine goes into standby, so it neither piles up lids nor runs empty while the tower works at its own pace.

02 · FORMATS

From TO43 to TO82 in our catalogue

It takes lids from Ø 42 to 90 mm and 9 to 22 mm tall, screw or twist-off, plastic or metal, and adjusts to each size. On our containers that runs from TO43 — the 33 and 41 ml mini jars and the 300 g Diamond jar — to TO82. TO89 sits at the edge of the range and is confirmed with a sample; TO100 and TO110 are out.

03 · WHAT IT WORKS WITH

It connects to the capping tower or the Flexstation

It works with the DANA api LIDFITTER automatic capping machine (110808), which takes the lid and screws it on at the programmed torque, and it is also the lid sorter of the Flexstation (110910): it is the only one Swienty makes. That is how it is fitted on the complete Swienty line, and how it is added after a filling station you already have. Swienty no longer recommends it with its semi-automatic electric capper: with both machines and several lid formats, the adjustment gets too complicated, and that capper is now meant for placing lids by hand.

At 2,000 lids an hour it outpaces both the tower and the Flexstation, so it never slows the line. It is electric, 90 to 264 V and 368 W, with no compressor; the tower, on the other hand, does need compressed air.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

It stands on the floor next to the tower: it takes 100 × 80 cm of floor space, is 1.90 m tall and weighs 80 kg. It ships on a 120 × 80 × 210 cm pallet at 90 kg.
