01 · TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Set the drum wall and measure the honey

The blanket has a nominal power of 2000 W and digital control adjustable from 20 to 99 °C. For liquefying or decrystallising honey, the manual places the actual product target between 35 and 45 °C; the blanket setpoint may differ because of heat loss and the drum’s thermal inertia.

Honey transfers heat slowly. There is no universal processing time: it depends on volume, degree of crystallisation, ambient temperature, contact with the drum wall and any stirring or recirculation during the process.

02 · FITTING

Continuous contact improves heat transfer

The blanket measures 190 × 88 cm and fastens with straps around an even-walled metal drum. It is listed for drums holding up to about 300 kg, but check the diameter and height before ordering. Fit it halfway up the drum, without folds and with enough tension for continuous contact, while the drum stands stable and level.

03 · MONITORING

The display is a reference, not the core temperature

Insert an independent probe into the honey and compare its readings with the display. The manual says to check the actual temperature every 30–60 minutes and to pause for stirring or recirculation every 2–3 hours to reduce gradients and hot spots. If E1 appears, disconnect the unit and inspect the sensor; H1 warns that the configured threshold has been exceeded.

04 · BEFORE BUYING

This is a drum heating system, not a pasteuriser or a guarantee of uniform temperature throughout the batch.

⚠ PRECAUTIONS

Do not leave the process unattended or operate the blanket with an empty or nearly empty drum. Do not use it with flammable liquids, do not cover the blanket or controller, and connect it directly to a suitable wall outlet. Keep the work area clear.
