When honey crystallises in the drum, heating it from the outside with blankets or warming cabinets is slow and loses its edge on hard, dense blocks. This immersion coil works the other way round: it delivers heat directly into the mass, top-down, until the whole block is fluid again. It is the OPTIMA version from LYSON —made in Poland—, designed for beekeepers who want a direct, robust tool without a digital controller or phase programming: four 400 W heating elements (1,600 W in total) governed by a manual thermostat wheel.
Total output is distributed across four circular 400 W elements arranged on a Ø 48 cm spiral. That layout matters: it avoids a single overheated point —which would spike HMF and damage the diastase enzymes— and spreads heat evenly around the drum's full perimeter. Heat starts at the top layer, melts it, and the coil sinks under its own weight as dechrystallisation progresses, until the whole block runs fluid, with no scorched spots.
Compared with the digital version with phase programming, the OPTIMA line goes the other way: a manual thermostat wheel, no display, no sophisticated electronics. Two practical consequences. First, fewer things that can break in a honey-house environment (dust, humidity, honey and propolis residue). Second, direct control: turn the wheel, choose the intensity, get on with it. For beekeepers who dechrystallise two or three times a year and don't need programmed curves, this is the honest format.
Body in food-grade stainless steel, safe for direct contact with honey: it withstands honey's organic acids and residual propolis without corroding. Overall dimensions: Ø 48 cm × 101 cm height, sized for standard beekeeping drums of 200 kg / 300 kg. Compact in storage, easy to wipe down after use, and with no moving parts to cause problems in the medium term.
