01 · WHAT THE MAILBOX ASKS

Bucket separate, 33 rpm, timer and up to 39 cm

Nine questions in four languages. The bucket is not included: it is only the head, mounted on the one you already have. It turns at about 33 rpm (1370 rpm motor with i = 40 reduction). The timer sets the run and the mushroom button cuts it; the maker does not publish a maximum continuous duty cycle or the gearmotor reference. It fits containers 30.5 to 39 cm across: a 50 kg tank of Ø 31 yes, a 100 kg one is usually over 39 and no. The clamps centre the shaft, so the paddles do not rub the wall if the bucket is round and well tightened.

02 · WHAT FOR

Unifying batches and seeding creamed honey

The grid paddles drag the honey even with the bucket half full. It serves to unify several batches into a constant profile or to make creamed honey by seeding: 5-10 % of finely crystallised honey, about 20 minutes of gentle running and cold maturing towards 14 °C, fine-tuned per batch by its glucose-fructose ratio. It is not a creamer: the honey must be liquid or softly crystallised; a hard block is warmed first or broken up with the drill spiral.

03 · FITTING

On a firm bucket; old plastic gives

The crossbar rests on the rim and the two black-knob clamps grip without piercing. Bienen-Ruck warns: plastic buckets and hobbocks lose rigidity over the years and an old one can give under the 15 kilos of head plus honey; mount on stainless or sound plastic and do not leave it running unattended. The parts in contact with honey are stainless and wash in hot water; the motor, with a cloth.

04 · WHAT WE DO NOT KNOW

Loose paddles and maximum viscosity

Two questions are left without a maker’s figure: whether the paddles are sold loose and up to what viscosity it mixes. We are asking; meanwhile, with liquid honey or soft cream it works as Bienen-Ruck describes.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The head is supplied with motor, timer and paddles; a 30.5-39 cm bucket or tank comes separately.
