01 · WHAT FOR

Transfer, bottle and cream without emulsifying

It serves to move honey from one tank to another, feed a filler and recirculate honey to cream it, always with clean, already filtered honey. The two synchronised lobes push the honey in a continuous flow, without pulses or turbulence, and so it draws in no air: the micro-bubble that a vane pump above 200-300 rpm uses to turn honey opaque does not form here. It is the pump for those who bottle with presentation as the argument.

02 · THE FLOW

From 60 to 330 rpm with the inverter, and in both directions

The built-in inverter sets the speed between 60 and 330 rpm: at 0.1 litre per turn that is from about 360 l/h to fill jars calmly up to 1,800 l/h to empty a tank. Rotation reverses from the same panel, which is how the pipes are emptied at the end and the honey left in them is recovered. It runs on 230 V single-phase; three-phase to order from the maker.

03 · WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

Prime dry or pump cappings

Like any lobe pump, it is not self-priming: the honey has to reach the inlet by gravity, with the pump below the tank level, or be primed by hand before starting. And it takes no solids: cappings, bits of wax or large crystals damage the lobes and the scraper. To pump honey with cappings from an uncapper, the screw pump (2584) or the helical ones (1350, 1676). The distance and height it pushes to depend more on the 50 mm pipe, the temperature and the viscosity of the honey than on the pump; with runny honey and pipe of that bore, an extraction-room circuit is no problem.

04 · THE MACHINE

316L, few parts and a trolley

The body is AISI 316L stainless, the rotor and scraper food-grade plastic and the mechanical seal tungsten carbide; it works from -10 to +90 °C. Few parts and no special tools to strip it for daily cleaning. It comes mounted on a stainless trolley with two wheels and a handle, 45 kg in all: one person moves it between tank and filler. Accessories: cut-off sensor (1384), which stops the pump when the tank runs empty, and inverter potentiometer (2845); the Monolobi 60 (534) is the smaller sister.

05 · BEFORE BUYING

What people ask on this page

Bare pump, without trolley or panel, and three-phase version: to order from the maker, ask us. Service life: wear goes to the plastic rotor and scraper, which are replaced; the 316L body and the mechanical seal last as long as the cleaning does. Honey and cappings mixes over twelve metres: not with this pump; with a screw or helical one.

06 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The pump is supplied mounted on its trolley, with inverter and cable; hoses, DN50 fittings, cut-off sensor (1384) and potentiometer (2845) come separately.

⚠ PRECAUTIONS

Prime before starting and never let it run dry: the mechanical seal and the lobes work lubricated by the honey. Never honey with cappings, wax or large crystals. Disconnect from the mains before opening the body to clean. With the cut-off sensor (1384) the pump stops on its own when the tank empties.
