Details of Honey bucket 30kg with sieve

SAF Natura 18/10 stainless steel bucket for about 30 kg of honey, 320 mm in diameter and 330 high, with handle, hermetic lid and a 1.183 mm sieve that rests on the rim. It is the bucket that goes under the extractor gate: it collects and does the first straining in the same step.

Yes, the strainer in the photo is included: the sieve comes with the bucket and is what sets it apart from an ordinary honey bucket; that was the mailbox question.

01 · WHAT FOR

Under the extractor gate, with the wax out

Place it under the extractor gate with the sieve on: the honey falls through the 1.183 mm mesh, which holds back coarse wax and cappings, and the bucket collects it already free of the coarse stuff. From there it goes into the settling tank to rest; a fine straining, if wanted, comes later with a 500-micron sieve. Remove the wax that builds up on the mesh before it blocks the flow, without pushing it through.

02 · THE SIZE

320 × 330 mm: 30 kilos you have to be able to lift

About 30 kg of honey when full, plus the bucket’s two: it lifts by the handle, but better not to fill it to the brim, so it moves under control and the lid has room. It weighs 2 kg empty and its 33 × 33 cm footprint fits under most extractors on legs.

03 · THE MATERIAL

18/10 stainless and a hermetic lid, to store or carry

Food-grade 18/10 stainless steel, with no welds to hold honey, and a lid with hermetic closure: good for keeping honey a few days or carrying it from the apiary to the room without spills. It is not a settling tank with a gate: to bottle, decant.

The bucket is supplied with its handle, lid and sieve; the settling tank and the fine strainer come separately.
