What a ZERO ripener is, and why it costs what it costs

The ZERO is LEGA's seam-free ripening tank: the vessel is formed in one piece, with no internal welds for honey to sit in and for you to scrape out. On an 800 kg tank you empty twice a year, that is the difference between half an hour of cleaning and half a morning. We carry the 500 kg (€434) and the 800 kg (€781).

Which one, and the cost of buying short

The number is not how much honey you take in a year, it is how much honey is waiting to be bottled at once. A tank that runs short forces you to bottle before the honey has settled, and that is where jars with foam on top come from. Size it by your peak weekend, not by your annual total.

The bag filter, for when bottling is the bottleneck

The bag filter (€2,083) is not a bigger strainer: it filters in line without forcing you to warm the honey to push it through. It earns its place once extraction stops being the bottleneck and clean, fast bottling starts being it. Below that volume, a double-mesh filter does the job.

If you need a large LEGA extractor, ask us before ordering: we bring it in to order, with a lead time, rather than selling you something else.
