Solid stainless steel hive tool, 25 cm, with one end bent at a right angle.
It is the tool you reach for most during an inspection and the one that takes the worst treatment: you lever with it constantly. That is why stainless steel matters — it will not bend or snap when you put your weight on it.
01 · BUILD
Made entirely of stainless steel, in one piece, 25 cm long. There is no glued or riveted handle — which is exactly where cheap hive tools give up after a couple of seasons of prising propolised crown boards.
02 · HIVE HEALTH
The right-angled end is what lifts the crown board off the box and what separates, lifts and spaces the frames. The flat end is the scraper: propolis off the top bars, wax off the floor and the walls of the hive.
03 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It is 25 cm, the standard length for working comfortably inside a brood box without your hand ending up against the frames. Stainless also means it washes down in hot water and does not rust in the store room.
