Heated double-walled metal cabinet with internal polyurethane insulation, to work with honey drums, or several buckets / honey tanks.
Thermal cabinet for decrystallising honey in bulk: it takes a whole euro pallet — two 300 kg drums or up to twelve 25 kg buckets — with 2,000 W, 30 to 55 °C and a cycle programmable from 1 to 48 hours.
The dial reaches 55 °C; with honey you do not go past 40. The top of the range is there for other things, and knowing that is the difference between liquefying honey and spoiling it.
01 · 30 TO 55, BUT WITH HONEY 40
The temperature adjusts between 30 and 55 °C. With honey the practical ceiling is 40 °C: above that HMF starts to climb, a legal parameter and the first thing a demanding buyer looks at.
And here the nuance matters more than on other machines, because the cycle can run up to 48 hours: what adds up HMF is not only the peak temperature but the time the honey spends warm. Forty-eight hours at 40 °C is already a thermal load; at 55 it is something else.
The craft rule is low and slow. The 55 °C are for wax, or for an emergency you accept.
02 · THE CABIN GOES TO THE PALLET
It rides on four swivel castors, so you push it over the loaded pallet instead of having to move the pallet to it. No pallet truck and no handling 600 kg of drums.
It also carries a rubber gasket underneath that seals against the floor as it settles, and that is where the insulation is won or lost: a flat floor lets the cabin hold; an uneven one leaves it blowing heat out below.
03 · A 300 KG DRUM TAKES DAYS
The cabin heats air and the air heats the drum wall, but honey conducts heat badly: the centre of a 300 kg drum takes far longer than a 48-hour cycle suggests.
That is why the timer runs from 1 to 48 hours rather than all at once: you programme successive cycles and check. Reckoning on several days for a full drum is realistic; expecting it liquid by morning is not.
04 · ONE EURO PALLET, TWO DRUMS
The inside measures 910 × 1,300 × 1,210 mm, built to the size of a 1,200 × 800 euro pallet. Two 300 kg drums fit, or up to twelve 25 kg buckets.
Outside it is 1,135 × 1,535 × 1,290 mm. The panels are sandwich type — double sheet with a polyurethane insulating core — which is what holds the temperature through long cycles without running up the bill.
05 · 2,000 W AND A RESET BUTTON
The element is 2,000 W at 230 V with a fan to spread the heat, so no three-phase installation is needed. Moving air avoids the hot spot against the element.
It includes a reset button in case a voltage dip cuts the cycle. On a two-day process that stops being a detail: without it, a brief cut at three in the morning means starting over.
06 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It needs a flat floor for the bottom gasket to seal, and room to manoeuvre 1.5 m of cabinet over the pallet.
