01 · THREE, AND SOME MACHINES HAVE FOUR

The set brings three platforms, which is the number of legs on most extractors. But uncapping benches and some settling tanks stand on four, and with three supports a four-legged machine is left lame.

Counting the legs and measuring them takes a minute and saves a returned order. They go on and off without tools, so they can also be moved from one machine to another if you only need to shift one thing at a time.

02 · MOVE IT, BUT WORK IT CAREFULLY

A loaded extractor vibrates, and what vibrates travels

With the wheels on, reorganising the honey house mid-season stops being a two-person job. The castors swivel and are heavy duty, meant for a smooth floor: on rough concrete or a slope the result is not the same.

And a warning that saves a fright: an extractor spinning with the load badly spread moves. Before starting, make sure the machine is stable and the frames balanced; the wheels are there to shift it, not to work on top of without looking.
