Cyclic digital timer, 110-220 V with a twin display, to automate the stirring and resting cycles of a honey creamer.
It is what automates the Dyce method. Creamed honey is not made by stirring: it is made with cycles of about 15 minutes stirring and an hour resting, repeated over several days. Nobody is going to watch a clock for three days, and that is where a cyclic timer comes in: it starts and stops the motor on its own, day and night.
01 · FIFTEEN MINUTES AND AN HOUR
An ordinary timer switches on once. This one is cyclic: it alternates a run time and a stop time indefinitely, which is exactly what directed crystallisation asks for. The twin LED display shows the elapsed cycle time and the programmed one at once.
And there is a reason not to stir continuously: constant agitation does not improve the crystal and it punishes the gearmotor, which is not built to run without pause.
02 · CHECK YOUR CREAMER'S VOLTAGE
This one runs on 110-220 V, which is what almost every small and medium creamer carries. If your stirrer is three-phase 400 V, this will not do: our range has the 400 V timer, and that is €326.45 against the €37.19 of this one.
Eight and a half times the price for the same function. Before choosing, read the motor plate: it is the cheapest check of the purchase.
03 · 10 A AND 2,200 W COVER THE RANGE
The load limit is 10 A or 2,200 W. Put in context: the single-phase creamers in our range run from 90 W for the smallest to 1,100 W for the 210 kg one. All of them fit, with half the margin unused.
One warning so you do not buy twice: two creamers in our range already carry their own timer. If yours is one of them, you do not need this.
04 · FOUR TERMINALS, WIRED IN LINE
It connects with four terminals: two for the mains in and two for the motor out. That is, it goes in line between the socket and the stirrer, not hung in parallel.
It is a simple connection but it is mains voltage: if you are not comfortable with 230 V, have someone who is fit it. And check the assembly ends up protected from the steam and splashes of the honey house.
