Arm mixer with a 50-litre food-grade bowl and a 0.55 kW single-phase 230 V gear motor. The 1/80 reduction leaves the arms at about 17 turns a minute: the mix does not heat up, and heat is what degrades proteins and vitamins. Shaft and arms in AISI 304 stainless, four braked castors.

EXTENDED HEIGHT

Arm mixer for making protein patties in batches: a 50-litre food-grade bowl and a single-phase 230 V gear motor.

Built in carbon steel except the shaft and arms, which are AISI 304 stainless — the parts that touch the mix. On four swivel castors with brakes.

01 · WHY IT MIXES SLOWLY

Seventeen turns a minute, and cold

The gear motor is 0.55 kW (0.75 HP) at 1,370 rpm with a 1/80 reduction: at the arms that is about 17 turns a minute. Mixing this slowly is not a limitation, it is the point. The mix does not heat up, and heat is precisely what degrades the proteins and vitamins in a pollen substitute and what forms HMF on the sugar. A batch mixed cold keeps what you paid for.

02 · HOW IT IS BUILT

Gas-strut head and braked castors

At the centre sits the support for the 50-litre bowl and the arms that stop it turning. The suspended part carries the gear motor, the control panel with start/stop button and an emergency switch, and at the back the articulated lever that raises and lowers the head with a gas strut: no lifting to get the bowl out. The four braked castors let you move it round the workshop and park it where it belongs.

03 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Check two things before buying. The electrics: it is single-phase at 230 V, so it fits any workshop without three-phase. And the space: the base is 600 × 600 mm and the height goes from 830 mm retracted to 1,275 mm extended, so you need that vertical clearance to raise the head. The rest is routine: bowl out, scrape and hot water at the end of each batch. And a note on scale: a 50-litre bowl is around 60 kg of patty per run, enough to supply a whole apiary in one go rather than mixing by hand batch after batch.
