When old combs are melted and sent for reworking, we’re recycling history… and residues. Beeswax is lipophilic: it traps anything fat-soluble. Acaricides, treatment molecules, and leftovers from past seasons. And they stay. You still find traces of coumaphos or fluvalinate more than fifteen years after treatments have stopped. Standard rendering doesn’t remove them; it redistributes them.

The issue becomes real when pollen sits for months inside contaminated cells. Nurse bees live shorter lives, forage less and raise brood poorly. Drones show reduced sperm motility and queens turn drone-layers earlier than expected. Above 100 ppb, colony-loss risk spikes.

This is virgin beeswax sourced from batches selected for their natural cleanliness and ultra-low residue levels. Each batch is verified by QSI (Quality Services International), one of Europe’s strictest laboratories for beekeeping contaminants.

The included report certifies absence of major acaricides: amitraz, coumaphos, fluvalinate, tau-fluvalinate, bromopropylate. If you want a clean base for producing your own foundation sheets, this is as close to “zero point” as it gets.
