Details of Wax Screw Press 50kg/h Paradise®

Screw press for cappings from the Finnish maker Paradise Honey: it separates honey from wax at up to 50 kg an hour and returns wax holding under 2 % honey.

Pressing is not melting, and that is the whole difference. A melter recovers the wax with heat; the press also recovers the honey, without putting it through the heat that drives HMF up.

01 · PRESSING IS NOT MELTING

The honey in the cappings is saved or lost

The cappings coming off the uncapper carry plenty of honey. Sent to the melter, that honey is heated along with the wax and stops being honey you can bottle.

The press makes the split cold: out of one side comes honey of the same grade as the extracted crop, out of the other, drained wax. That is what turns a by-product into a product, and at volume it is what pays for the machine.

02 · HOW THE SCREW WORKS

Rising pressure against the plates

The cappings drop into the conical hopper and an auger pushes them forward. As they advance the pressure rises steadily and forces the honey through the holes in the filter plates and down into the sump below.

The wet wax is held back along the screw and leaves, drained, at the far end into its container. The strainer also acts as a pre-filter, so what reaches the sump is already clear of coarse material.

03 · UNDER 2 % IN THE WAX

The figure that justifies the machine

The wax leaving the end of the screw retains less than 2 % honey. Draining cappings by gravity falls well short of that, and the gap is honey that until now went out with the wax.

At 50 kg/h of mix, a season's cappings are processed in hours instead of weeks of draining.

04 · WHAT IT ASKS FOR

A gentle pre-warm and 240 V

The best result comes from gently pre-warming the mix before it goes in — just enough to make it flow. Gently is the word: the aim is for the honey to move, not to heat it.

A 0.37 kW motor on 240 V single phase, with a 10 A supply. Built in stainless steel and made to run continuously.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

This is honey-house equipment for volume: below a certain quantity of cappings a year, draining still makes more sense.

✓ FITSRecovering the honey in cappings where uncapping is done in series.
✕ DOESN'T FITTo melt wax: that is a melter's job, and it comes after this.
⚠ NOT INCLUDEDThe equipment to warm the mix, or the collecting containers.
