01 · COLD, AND THAT IS WHY IT COSTS THIS

The honest comparison is with the melter

Our range has «2-in-1» cappings melters from €1,156.20 that separate the honey by melting the wax. They work, and they are half the money. What they give you is not jar honey: above 40 °C the HMF rises and the diastase falls, and at 62-65 °C that is not a nuance.

That honey has outlets — feeding, mead, industry — but it is another product and it sells at another price. The spinner costs €3,446.28 and returns to the jar the honey the cappings were carrying away. The €2,290 difference is exactly that.

02 · THE PRESS ALSO WORKS COLD

And it is cheaper: worth knowing

The 50 kg/h cappings press is €2,061.98 and it does not heat either. If the argument were only temperature, the press would win.

The difference is format. The press runs continuously and gives the wax back packed into a cake; the spinner works in batches and gives the wax back loose, ready to go into the melter without breaking it up. Below two thousand euros you are in press country; from three thousand and something upwards, in spinner country.

03 · 550 W IN AN ORDINARY SOCKET

Which in a honey house is no small thing

The motor is 550 W at single-phase 230 V. In a room where the extractor, the uncapper and the mixer all ask for three-phase, this one plugs in wherever you like.

The outlet is a 2-inch valve, the bore of the big line, so it connects straight to a clarifier, a bucket or a filter. The drum is acid-resistant stainless steel and the basket, in food-grade plastic, comes out for cleaning.

04 · THE MAKER GIVES NO CAPACITY

And we would rather say so than invent it

For this model the maker publishes three figures: 230 V, 550 W and a 2-inch valve. No kilos per load, no rpm, no drum diameter. Tell us the volume you move and we will confirm it with the factory before you order anything.

For scale: the same maker's professional version plays in another league — 2.2 kW, up to 900 rpm, an Ø 850 mm drum, 265 kg and an electromagnetic lid lock. This is the mid-sized honey house's machine, not the co-operative's.

05 · CAPPINGS DO NOT WAIT

And this decides when you use it, not whether you buy it

Wet cappings piled up ferment: the honey they carry is left exposed, takes up moisture from the air and the yeasts do the rest. A three-day-old heap of cappings smells like what it is.

So the spinner is run the same day as the harvest, not the following week. And that is why a basket that lifts out and a drum you can clean without dismantling anything are worth as much as the watts.
