01 · THE GRAM, TRANSLATED INTO KILOS

Every extra gram is ten kilos every ten thousand jars

The arithmetic is simple and worth doing before comparing prices: one gram of overfill per jar is 10 kg of honey given away every 10,000 jars. Five grams is 50 kg. Dosing accuracy is not a catalogue figure, it is a line in the accounts.

The machine is made by the Danish firm Swienty and carries a low-voltage motor with their own gears, electronic control and a digital doser with more than twenty programmable options. The target weight is set in grams, millilitres or ounces, and runs from 10 g with no upper limit.

02 · IT FILLS AND IT ALSO TRANSFERS

That is why the pump is faster than the filling cycle

Filling, it gives around 800 jars of 500 g an hour, that is 400 kg/h. The pump, on the other hand, moves in the order of 610 kg/h. That difference is not a catalogue error: when filling, the bottleneck is the dosing cycle, not the flow.

And it is what lets you use it as a transfer pump between settling tanks when it is not filling. One machine doing both jobs in the room.

03 · FITTINGS AND POWER

An inch-and-a-half thread, and any socket

The fittings are a BS thread of 1.5 inches and a 2 inch hose connection, which is the size of the house honey line: it connects to what you already have without odd adapters.

The supply accepts 90 to 305 V at 50 or 60 Hz with a consumption of 575 W, so it goes into any domestic socket. And the pump stays below 70 dB(A), which you appreciate all day in a small room.

04 · WHERE IT SITS IN THE RANGE

Between the 1000 and the 3000, and with its own table

The DANA 1000 runs at around 200 kg/h filled, this 2000+ at 400, and above it sits the 3000. The choice is about the pace of the room, not the quality of the fill: all three dose to the same standard.

It integrates with Swienty's rotary table, capper and labeller, but each filler has its own. The Ø 45 compact table belongs to the 1000; the 2000+ takes the Ø 100 one.
