This Quarti honey tank, manufactured in Italy, is an essential tool for the decanting and storage of honey, specifically designed for beekeepers seeking efficiency and quality in their work. With a capacity of up to 50 kg of honey, this equipment offers a robust and precise design to ensure your honey is preserved under the best conditions.
50 kg settling tank in AISI 304 stainless steel, with a clear polycarbonate lid, a 1½'' guillotine gate and a flat, continuously welded bottom. 500 mm tall and 310 across.
It is called a ripener, but what it does is settle: let what you do not want in the jar rise, and bottle what stays underneath.
01 · WHAT HAPPENS INSIDE
Left to rest, the air bubbles, wax fragments and particles the filter let through rise to the surface, and are lifted off with a skimmer before bottling. What is left below is clean honey. How long it takes is not set by the manual: it depends on the room temperature and the honey itself — a few hours for a runny honey, considerably longer for a dense one.
02 · THE GUILLOTINE GATE
It carries a 1½'' guillotine gate in food-grade nylon: instead of turning, the shutter drops and cuts the flow dead. Bottling jar by jar, that difference shows, because the cut-off is clean and no thread hangs between one jar and the next. And it is the standard honey-house size, so spares and fittings are the usual ones.
03 · THE FLAT BOTTOM
The bottom is welded with TIG, a continuous joint with no pores or cracks: there is no seam where honey sits fermenting and no corner impossible to clean. It is a flat bottom, so to get the last kilos out it helps to tilt it slightly or to stand it on a support that gives height for the jar under the gate.
04 · WHAT IT DOES NOT COME WITH
Better said up front: it has no handles and no clamping ring — that is what owners miss most, especially compared with the 30 kg one. The polycarbonate lid rests on top with its knob, lets you see the honey without uncovering it and keeps dust out, but it is not an airtight closure. And the filter is separate: there are sieves that sit in the mouth to strain as you fill.
05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
It does not include handles, clamping ring, filter or stand. It measures 500 mm tall by 310 across and weighs 7 kg empty.
