Sunken cappings, corners, and irregular honeycomb don't always open easily with a straight blade. This wide comb has 21 stainless steel prongs to lift these areas before uncapping.
Insert only the tip under the capping and gently pull upwards. The goal is to open the cell without tearing out a deep layer of honeycomb, especially in depressions where the knife passes over.
The teeth are 55 mm long and have a stated spacing of 0.3 cm. The wide handle provides support to keep the wrist aligned during short strokes.
Remove accumulated wax with warm water and a material-compatible method. Do not bang the comb against the container or pry it sideways: a deformed tooth will scratch the comb and work unevenly.
