Kit to set up the extraction room of a 5-20 hive apiary, in one shipment: Quarti S152 manual tangential 2-frame universal extractor (Layens, Dadant or Langstroth, or 4 shallows), uncapping tray with stand and gate, 28 cm serrated knife, uncapping fork, Ø 32 cm stainless double-sieve strainer and 65 kg settling tank with gate. All food-grade, and below the sum of the parts bought separately.

It is the whole chain, from uncapping to bottling: each piece fits the next, which is what is hard to get right buying loose the first time.

01 · THE ROUTE

Uncap, spin, strain, settle

Frames are uncapped over the 39 × 40 × 60 cm tray, resting on its stand: the 28 cm serrated knife takes the whole layer off and the straight-tine fork goes over sunken cells and corners; cappings stay on the grid and the honey that drains leaves through the gate below. Then the extractor, two deep frames or four shallows per batch; the honey goes through the double-sieve strainer (12 and 25 mesh) into the settling tank, and after a few days’ rest it is bottled from its gate.

02 · THE EXTRACTOR

Tangential, 2 frames, no legs

It is the Quarti S152: Ø 470 mm stainless drum, top crank with gears and clear lids, no legs. It goes on a firm, level table that takes the effort of the crank. Tangential means the comb faces the drum wall: spin one face at moderate speed, stop, turn the frames round and do the other. It takes Layens, Dadant and Langstroth; with odd-sized frames, measure shoulders and spacers first.

03 · WHO IT IS FOR

5 to 20 hives, and what owners say

It is sized for a hobbyist’s harvest: two frames per batch and 65 kg of settling. Four reviews between 2024 and 2026 say the same in different words: fine for a few hives, food-grade materials, nothing missing. Anyone past 20-30 hives is already looking at a 4-frame or radial extractor with legs.

04 · WHAT IT DOES NOT BRING

Jars, a table and patience

No jars or labels, no table for the extractor, no thermometer or refractometer for moisture. The settling tank decants, it does not filter or dry honey: fill it, let it rest until the foam rises and bottle from the gate.

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Supplied in one shipment of about 20 kg; each piece has its own page with its measurements.
