01 · 6/4 INCH MEANS INCH AND A HALF

And it is neither six nor four

The drain valve is described as 6/4 inch, which is the Polish way of writing six quarters, that is an inch and a half. It is the usual calibre in small installations and it links to filters and maturers on that line.

Worth knowing, because it trips people up when comparing datasheets. If your installation is two inches, you need a reducer.

02 · THE SIX COSTS 15 % MORE

And that comparison is worth making first

In the same BASIC range there is a six-frame model for about two hundred euros more than this one. That is 15 % more price for 50 % more capacity, so if you are hesitating between the two, the sum is simple.

This four-frame makes sense if space rules, if it is a second extractor for the honey house, or if the apiary is small and not going to grow. In any other case, look at the six.

03 · WHAT BASIC MEANS HERE

Because it is not a marketing word

The BASIC range is functional and honest, and it is so through specific decisions: 0.6 mm sheet in the drum — which is what makes it weigh 25 kg and cost what it costs —, an HE-01V controller with nine automatic cycles and two manual, and two-piece epoxy-painted legs.

The controller does not let you program advanced cycles like the higher range. For four frames you do not need to: pick the programme and leave it.

04 · IT ARRIVES UNASSEMBLED

And that includes the legs

It ships in a cardboard box with the legs unfitted. No special tools are needed and assembly is simple, but plan for it and do not order it for the same day you start extracting.

Built by LYSON in Poland, with a two-year warranty. The 12 V 150 W motor has a spare in our range, which on a machine used three weeks a year matters more than it seems.
